Kovar & Associates LLC Becomes URSA Inc.
On January 1st of 2018 URSA Inc. was born and Kovar & Associates LLC was merged into it. URSA, Unmanned and Robotics Systems Analysis, is our vehicle for building an amazing team dedicated to offering world class unmanned vehicle data analytics products and services. Thank you for engaging with us as Kovar & Associates in 2017 and we look forward to working with you as URSA in 2018!
URSA is now part of Techstars
After being selected from more than more than 200 applicants, URSA joined the Techstars Autonomous Technology Accelerator with the U.S. Air Force in Boston. Techstars is a three month program designed to help selected companies “gain traction through deep mentor engagement, rapid iteration cycles, and fundraising preparation.” The goal of this accelerator is to build viable solutions fit for both commercial and government application and is the first at Techstars to be run in conjunction with a government entity.

MSAB and URSA Partner to Provide UAV Forensics Solution
On December 6th, 2017 MSAB and Kovar & Associates (now URSA) announced that the two companies signed an agreement to work together to expand the drone forensics capabilities offered by MSAB. David Kovar, CTO and Founder of URSA, is recognized as a leading expert on drone forensics. He will serve as a subject matter expert and consultant to MSAB, supporting the integration of URSA’s UAV forensics engine with MSAB’s leading products, XRY and XAMN Spotlight. READ MORE…
New CEO, Same Founder
Benjamin Barrows joined URSA as CEO in January. Ben’s experience leading teams in complex environments will help us navigate our partnerships with Techstars, MSAB, and other exciting opportunities in the future. As part of the leadership team, Ben will expand the vision for and take to market URSA’s data and analytics platform. Complementing his revenue focus, Ben will build out corporate governance structures, lead operational and financial management and drive the development and implementation of URSA’s human capital strategy.
Ben joins URSA after twelve years as a technical expert, entrepreneur, and management consultant in international humanitarian relief, focused on market systems, economic recovery, and food security in developing countries affected by conflict or natural disaster. In addition to an international career that took him to two dozen countries, Ben has also managed a media company and held public office in his home state of Maine.
Ben earned a BA in International Affairs from American University, and a MA in International Relations from Tufts University. He has his Part 107 UAV pilot certification, and is an enthusiastic flyer.
